The idea
Most of what is sold as a Highland escape is a hotel with a view of a hill. You share the dining room, you book a table, you are handed a key and left to it.
This is the other thing. A private estate at the end of a single track, four lodges and no more, and a chef who cooks for your table and no one else's. Nobody rings a gong. Nobody else is at breakfast. If you want to eat at nine, you eat at nine.
The days are yours to shape. Out into the glen in Land Rover Defenders we rebuilt ourselves — leather, oak and brass, because we run a Defender restoration business and could hardly turn up in anything less. Fifty clays on the stand if you fancy it. A walk up the hill if you don't. And champagne by the fire when the light goes off it, poured into cut glass, because that is the whole point.
It is two nights. You will want it to be longer.

The season runs from March to the end of December, and there are four lodges on the estate. Each stay is two nights — choose the day of your arrival and it will be carried through to the form below.

What it costs
£2,000 is a stay for two in one lodge across the full two nights — your rooms, every meal, the Defender days, fifty clays and the champagne. A deposit of £1,000 reserves it; the balance falls due eight weeks before you arrive. Larger parties simply take more than one of the four lodges.
Paying the balance
A £1,000 deposit reserves your days, and the balance falls due eight weeks before you arrive. Should the balance remain unsettled at that point the booking is released and no refund is due.
Cancellations
Cancelled more than ten weeks before the day of arrival, everything you have paid is returned in full. Within ten weeks, no refund is due. And should we for any reason be unable to keep your days, your deposit is returned in full — no conditions, and no small print.
Moving your dates
We would very much rather move you than lose you. If something changes, speak to us first — where another date stands open we will carry your booking across, and we are as accommodating as we are reasonably able to be.

The estate lies in a quiet glen in the Scottish Highlands. Directions and travel notes follow on confirmation.
Four lodges
There are four lodges on the estate and no more, so at most four parties are ever in the glen at once. Take all four and you have the place entirely to yourselves — a good many do, for a family gathering or a shooting party.

None whatever. The stand is fully instructed, runs to fifty clays, and suits a complete beginner as readily as a seasoned shot. Tell us who is coming and what they have done before, and it is set up to match. Further clays can be arranged on the day.
Cancelled more than ten weeks before the day of arrival, everything you have paid is returned in full, deposit included. Within ten weeks no refund is due, and the same applies should the balance remain unsettled eight weeks before arrival — the booking is released and the days returned to the calendar. That said, we would very much rather move you than lose you: if something changes, speak to us first, and wherever another day stands open we shall carry your booking across. Wherever we are able, yes. There are only four lodges, so a good deal depends on what else is taken for the days you want — but we would far rather move a booking than lose it. Tell us as early as you can and we shall look at what stands open.
